Alquez has been awarded a Gold Medal at Mundus Vini 2024 Summer Tasting.
Mundus Vini is one of the most important and internationally recognized wine competitions. This year, the event was held in Pfalz, one of Germany’s most important wine regions.
In its 35th edition, 250 wine experts from 55 countries participated, evaluating hundreds of samples worldwide in a six-day blind tasting.
Alquez 2021 is a wine made from 100% Garnacha grapes, sourced from a selection of old vineyards with an average age of 60 years and limited production.
The vineyard is located in Murero (Zaragoza) on high-altitude slopes at 800 meters, where daytime temperatures are moderate. The altitude also gives a high diurnal range and helps to retain acidity in the grapes. The slopes are composed of oxidized slates, schists, and red clays.
All these characteristics, combined with a careful winemaking process, result in a well-balanced wine with aromas of red and black fruits and smooth tannins.
