With a score of 95 points, it stands as one of only two wines rated “Outstanding” among selections from different winemaking regions of Aragón.
Another wine from Sommos Garnacha, Lamín 2020, also ranked highly in the “Highly Recommended” section, receiving a score of 93 points.
The prestigious British magazine Decanter awarded 95 points to Tiaso 2021 from our Sommos Garnacha winery, making it one of only two wines to receive an “Outstanding” rating in their review of 77 wines from various wine regions of Aragón.
The three critics behind the feature—Beth Willard, Valentin Radosav, and David Williams—highlight its fruity and mineral character, which showcases the purest expression of the variety, along with the freshness of the 2021 vintage. Tiaso 2021 is crafted from old, bush-trained Garnacha vines planted between 1920 and 1970 on plots of gray slate soil. The wine is aged for 14 months in clay vessels.
This in-depth report also features another top-rated wine from Sommos Garnacha. Lamín 2020 achieved a score of 93 points, placing it among the top wines in the “Highly Recommended” section. Noted for its aromatic intensity, Lamín 2020 reveals aromas of blueberries and violets over a rich background of spicy and toasted notes, creating a friendly, well-balanced wine. This wine is made from old Garnacha vines planted on fine slate slopes, yielding less than 1 kg per vine. The wine is then aged for 36 months in clay vessels and French oak barrels.

Lastly, another wine from Bodega Sommos in the D.O.P. Somontano also received high marks in this report. Sommos Colección Syrah 2020, from Finca Montesa at the foothills of the Sierra de Guara, continues to be a standout among the best-rated wines from Aragón by this esteemed publication.
