The renowned wine journalist Miquel Hudin recently visited the Somontano Protected Designation of Origin (D.O.P.), and among the wines he tasted in the region, seven wines from Bodega Sommos were awarded 90 points or higher.
The scores were as follows: 90 points for Sommos Colección Tempranillo 2019 and Sommos Colección Gewürztraminer 2024; 90+ for Sommos Colección Chardonnay 2023; 91 points for Sommos Colección Sauvignon Blanc 2023 and Sommos Colección Merlot 2020; 92 points for Sommos Colección Cabernet Sauvignon 2019; and an outstanding 93+ for Sommos Premium 2020.
Hudin, a California-born journalist based in Spain largely due to his deep specialization in Spanish wines highlighted in his report “The Wines of Aragón 2025” the remarkable diversity of wines within the Somontano D.O.P., as well as the impressive range of white grape varieties found in the region.
These results are a testament to the work we continue to pursue, both in the vineyard and in the winery, always with the aim of making wines that reflect the true character of Somontano.
